First impressions... Smaller than I expected, old fashioned layout with photos together at the back. Most useful though are the many pages of steam, diesel, carriage and wagon drawings with some key dimensions on them.
This is the first edition, so I expect over the years the format was modernised and extra photographs added, to produce the edition that Bruce talks about in his recommendation.
